For years I have had back problems which prevented my ability to sleep and also prevented me from playing sports at times.

I tried stretching and taking prescribed medications, but this only was a short term solution.

From chiropractic care my back strength has increased significantly.  I have noticed that I have not been as sick in the winter as I once was.  The increase in my energy has enabled me to work out on a daily basis.

My increased flexibility in back strength has brought me a healthier lifestyle and I enjoy working out again.

I have suffered from upper/lower back pain, hip/neck pain, digestive problems and as a result was not getting proper sleep at night. Before seeking care from Dr. Staffen, I saw numerous doctors and tried different medications to try to help with the pain. After my first few treatments with Dr. Staffen, I started noticing I had greater tolerance in activities and daily work. My balance has improved, I have more energy and have lost weight too. I am currently taking less medication and have seen such a positive change in my lifestyle. In addition, I would recommend that everyone seek chiropractic care in order to have a more fulfilled life.

I have lived for 15+ years with pain, both in my upper and lower back. Before deciding to see a chiropractor, I tried orthotics, being more conscious about my posture and medication; all of which gave me temporary relief. After receiving treatment from Dr. Michlowski I feel better all around – I have more energy, less tension in my back and greater flexibility. I feel very cared for during my treatments, as Dr. Michlowski would conduct thorough explanations of all that was being done.

Ten years ago while visiting my mother I got this excruciating pain in my lower back. The pain radiated down my left leg into my foot. My left leg and foot had swollen up to double their normal size, ice cold and numb from the knee down. I was taken to the hospital by ambulance, where they pumped me full of medication, took x-rays and sent me to my family doctor for results. An MRI was done and the doctor told me that I had two herniated discs (L4 and L5), and that I would have to live like this forever. I inquired about other treatments that may help such as Physiotherapy and Chiropractic, but my doctor told me I would only end up in a wheelchair. I spent the next few years trying to cope with daily life. I figured I had done all I could to help myself, and so I continued to live with the pain. Then something changed. I started a job at the New Sudbury Chiropractic & Wellness Centre. Along with this new job came my first chiropractic adjustment ever. At first, I was nervous and kept hearing my doctor telling me I would end up in a wheelchair. I had come so far and did not want to make it worse. I explained my situation to Dr. Staffen and he told me that he thought he could help me. I decided I wanted to feel better. That is when I received my first chiropractic adjustment, and have continued to do so three times a week, every week.

No, I am not cured, but I am moving and functioning in ways I thought would never happen again. I am now able to move my left foot for the first time in ten years and I no longer walk with a limp. My pain level has decreased considerably.

I could never have come this far on my own. Chiropractic care has been one of the best things to ever happen to me and I can never thank my family at New Sudbury Chiropractic & Wellness Centre for helping me be as healthy as I am today.

Ethan was born a colicky baby. He wouldn’t stop crying for hours especially at night between 6-9pm. He was so tough for mommy I decided to bring him in to see a Chiropractor. At first I told myself this isn’t going to work but honestly it’s the best thing ever for him. I tried everything from rocking him, pushing his feet & legs up and down, cuddling and even gripe water. Nothing worked until he got adjusted and it worked 100%. Ethan now doesn’t cry as much, he now seems happy, he smiles, sleeping better and is a perfect baby. Dr. Staffen has been a great help. I would recommend him to anyone. He is a great person!

QuoteI was a previous patient that experienced good results with chiropractic care, and slowly discontinued. After a few years later I came back as I wasn’t “feeling right”. Although I’m in my thirties I was stiff and sore all the time, had achy legs and arms and in general not feeling well. My computerized spinal scan showed an imbalance in the nervous system and the muscles very tight through out the spine (lots of red = bad). After only 12 treatments (4 weeks) I felt much better and my scan looked better too. My nervous system now has more balance (more green = good). My muscles also feel better. I now see my chiropractor on a regular basis to be healthier.

QuoteI come to see the Chiropractor for a tune-up every 4 weeks. I’ve bee doing maintenance for years. It has significantly improved my neck kinks and lower back pain. He also works on my wrist and thumb for a condition that I have, thereby providing better mobility and reducing my pain.

QuoteWe see chiropractic care as preventative care and maintenance of our spine and nervous system. We’ve been receiving adjustments for over 10 years and they help in our overall health and well-being!

QuoteI injured my back at the age of seventeen as a result of a weight lifting accident in high school. It’s a long story. Suffice it to say that I pulled nearly every muscle in my back from top to bottom. It was very painful and my back never felt “good” from that day on. As for treatment, I was told to “take it easy” for a while by my doctor.

When I was twenty two years old I was living in Toronto and my back was really bothering me. I went to see a back pain specialist. He did a number of tests, took some x-rays and decided that, in order to alleviate my pain, he wanted to fuse my spine. I told him that I might want to bend my back sometime in the next fifty years so I wasn’t about to go that route, thank you very much.

Someone suggested I go see a chiropractor. I didn’t know anything about chiropractic except that a number of other people I talked to thought they were a bunch of “quacks”. I needed to do something. I was constantly in a lot of pain, fusion was out of the question as far as I was concerned, so I picked up the phone book, found a doctor with a big add and years of experience and gave him a call.

I went to see him, asked a number of questions, liked what I heard and told him to give it a go. I had to see him twice a week for two weeks, once a week for a month, every other week for a month and then, if all went according to plan, once a month from there on out. I was skeptical but had few other options. I didn’t see any improvement for the first couple of weeks. In fact, my back felt worse than when I started. I told the doc this and he told me that was often the case but to stay with it for a few more weeks. Well, I’d gone this far so what was another few adjustments. Near the end of the first month’s worth of treatments, I noticed some improvement. “Maybe the old guy knows what he’s talking about” I thought to myself…. By the end of the second month my back felt pretty good, a nice change after suffering so many years. I stayed with the doc for another year until I transferred out of Toronto and my back felt great.

That was in 1981. I’ve been seeing chiropractors ever since. They’re what’s kept me running all these years. I was very active in sports, did construction work on and off and really put my body through its paces. Now, I’m not trying to say that my back never went “out” because it did, quite a few times, all because of what I was doing. (or actually doing wrong until I smartened up a bit) but the chiropractors were always able to get me back on my feet and running again.

I am very thankful that I chose the chiropractic path and it has served me very well. I recommend it to anyone. I have lived all over the province of Ontario and not all chiropractors though are created equally. Some are extremely good and others don’t quite measure up, at least in my opinion. I tried more than a few out when I first moved to Sudbury in 1986. I’ve been a patient of Clark’s since somewhere around 1988 I’d guess. I couldn’t be happier and I recommend him to everyone. I’ve also been treated by Mike, on occasions when I really needed a treatment and Clark was away (rarely) and I am also quite happy with his expertise and would recommend him as well.

This is a true story, every word. Hey, I should be the poster boy for chiropractic! The story is an abbreviated version because there’s a whole lot more I could say. If you’re new to this and are not sure whether or not you want to try it, here’s my personal philosophy – Not everything works for everybody, (traditional medical doctors, other types of doctors, acupuncture, massage, etc., etc – I’ve tried a number of them) and some things work well for some conditions and not so well for the rest. There’s only one way you’ll ever know for sure if it’s for you…. give it an honest and open-minded try. I’m so very glad I did.

QuoteI started with medication such as Oxycontin, Oxycodone and progressed to using Fentanyl duragesic patches. None of those worked and in fact made my pain worse. I also subsequently became addicted my life was unmanageable! Pills are not the answer. have been seeing Dr.Staffen now for almost 16 years. He has helped me with my lower, upper back pain as well as neck and extremely painful sciatic tissue. I have no sciatic pain anymore, and it only took 2 weeks of sessions! My general health has improved immensely by seeing Dr. Staffen. It does take time and patience to see drastic results, but it is so worth it! The alternatives (ie. narcotics, living on Tylenol or Advil) don’t correct the problem they mask the problem. I am proof of that. Dr. Staffen has changed my life; I no longer have to live with pain on a daily basis.

QuoteI had neck and chest pains for about 6-8 months when I decided to go see Dr. Staffen. It didn’t take many treatments to start to feel a very obvious and significant improvement. The doctor’s and staff are great people and really care and support your needs. Thank You!

QuoteI have had over 20 years of neck and back pain issues and tried many things such as prescriptions from my family doctor, exercise and different mattress. When I came to this office I had a back injury and was in extreme pain, now I sleep much better hardly any migrains and my RLS has even diminished.
